Bachelor of Business (Hons) International Business & Marketing

The Bachelor of Business (Hons) degree is multidisciplinary in nature and can lead to many possible careers, whether in business or in the public sectors. The programme aims to help students develop detailed knowledge of business and management practices, as well as critically evaluate that knowledge and finally apply it in their future career. The integrative nature and overall emphasis in the programme is on active participation and interaction between students and academics. Through this three-year dual degree programme, besides the sound knowledge in the specific discipline, our business students will also develop soft skills in key business areas, such as presentations, projects management, teamwork, entrepreneur skills, working to deadlines, problem solving and decision making - all of which are clearly listed in our Taylor’s Graduate Capabilities and have been embedded into our curriculum. This business programme emphasises on mastering the practical competencies necessary for achieving business success.

International business is a term that collectively describes all commercial transactions that take place between two or more nations. It deals with international trade, which is the exchange of capital, goods, and services across international borders or territories.

International business knowledge is particularly useful to multinational enterprises (MNE) that practice a worldwide business approach with markets and productions in different countries. It deals with how operations on the international front affect and are affected by logistical and cultural factors.

The Bachelor of Business (Hons) International Business offers you the knowledge and training that will pave the way to a successful international career working for multinational companies. These are companies that will need your expertise to help them compete effectively in an increasingly complicated global market place.

This degree will give you insights on the latest business concepts and management techniques from an international context.  You will learn the best ways to conduct business in different countries by exploring the dynamic interplay between organisations and business systems with culture, ethnicity, world trade and financial markets. You will gain wide knowledge of the laws, restrictions and financial practices of trading with foreign countries. The course also provides you knowledge of foreign exchange, tariffs, import and export regulations, trade agreements, and climate. The development of strategies, organisational design, and management of operations of companies whose activities stretch across national boundaries will be covered.
