Teaching and Educational Development (TED)
TED's Mission and Goal
Training and Educational Development (TED) is one of the divisions under INTELLECT or the Integrated Teaching and Life-long Learning Center at Taylor's. The overarching goal is to cultivate excellence in teaching through practice, development, and innovation. TED assists the academics by providing platforms in order to achieve the desired Taylor's teaching excellence standard. TED ensures provision of developmental activities that would enhance their teaching capability and learning engagement.

TED's Direction:
Strategic – long term, developmental, engaging, holistic
Leveraging – generating, applicable, setting new standard
Sustainable – inclusive, integrating, enhancing

TED's Main Tasks
Classification – Taylor's academic staff will be classified based on their preparation, training, and work goals. The intention of this classification is to identify the most appropriate developmental intervention that a staff can go through.
Certification – Taylor's designed an internal certification initiative which will give academic staff opportunities to enhance their teaching capability and participation as a professional higher education facilitator.
Continuing Assessment – Taylor's designed a comprehensive academic staff assessment mechanism in order to monitor their development and other growth opportunities.
Development – Through comprehensive academic staff assessment, TED implements contextualized developmental interventions meant to further enhance academic staff's teaching capability and learning engagement.

New Academic Staff Integration (NASI) Program – NASI was designed to assist newly hired academic staff in their integration in the new learning environment. The initiative provides the significant dimensions of Taylor's total learning experience. The NASI training modules help the new academic staff to journey from Taylor's teaching and learning philosophy and framework to Taylor's graduate capability components.
