The Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) is the most widely recognised measure of research quality in UK. The RAE scores research activity submitted by institutions on a five point scale:
| • |
4* (world leading) |
| • |
3* (internationally excellent) |
| • |
2* (recognised internationally) |
| • |
1* (recognised nationally) |
| • |

An announcement and more detailed RAE feedback is expected from the government in the Spring of 2009 on how these and other good performances in research will be awarded with funding.
The results were published at www.rae.co.uk and Guardian newspaper (www.guardian.co.uk). To see the full results and list of universities, click here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/education/table/2008/dec/18/rae-results-2008-law-degree

"This is an excellent result which consolidates our previous position as a prestigious research active institution," said Prof. Patricia M.Leopold, Head of the School of Law at Reading.
She added, "The structure and content of the Reading LL.B programme benefit from the high quality research performed by its staff. More importantly, the active participation of our excellent student community - both undergraduate and postgraduate - has contributed significantly to the research conducted by staff."
Ms Rajeswari Kanniah, Programme Director at Taylor's School of Law is proud to rejoice alongside Reading's School of Law on its latest achievement. |
"Taylor's has a strong reputation of education excellence and our twinning arrangement with Reading School of Law, with its high standards and quality, has provided just the right ingredients for our students to continuously excel in the Reading LL.B programme," she said.
"In the 2008 graduating batch at Reading, Taylor's law student Karen Foong Yee Ling graduated at the top of her class of 150 students with First Class Honours. Recently in December 2008, we were proud of Lee Soo Tian and Alex Ch'ng Hun Yao who received Achievement Awards for coming up in the Top 5% in their Year 1 and 2 examinations," added Ms Rajeswari.

Taylor's law school offers a 2+1 or 1+2 twinning programme with the University of Reading. Students enrolled at Taylor's are University of Reading students from the minute they are registered. They are taught the same subjects as students in the UK, attend lectures and tutorials in the same fashion and guided by lecturers that are all trained and approved by the University of Reading. This enables them to adapt better when they transfer to Reading.
The Taylor's Law School has strong industry links with the top law firms and legal institutions that support the practice of law. During their two years at Taylor's, students are exposed to law practice and the law fraternity through moot competitions, law debates, field visits, alumni tea gatherings, and more.
The next intake of the LL.B programme at Taylor's Law School is 5 October 2009. For more information on the law degree programme offered at Taylor's, please forward your enquiries to 03-5636-2641 or e-mail admissions@taylors.edu.my. |
